Arrival, booking & check-in
How does the 50/50 booking system work?
With us, 50 percent of the pitches can be conveniently reserved online in advance. The other half are reserved exclusively for spontaneous arrivals on the day of arrival. You can flexibly secure these spontaneous pitches on the day of your arrival, either on your way via our website or on-site at our 24/7 booking terminal.
Can I make a reservation by phone or email?
No, unfortunately that's not possible. Since booked pitches must be paid for directly at the time of reservation (e.g., via PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay), we cannot accept inquiries by email or phone. Please use our convenient online booking portal or the on-site terminal.
How does the barrier open upon arrival?
Our system is fully automated! Once you've booked, our camera at the barrier recognizes your license plate and checks you in seamlessly. Therefore, please ensure you enter your license plate number correctly when booking – otherwise, the barrier will remain closed and the charging station will be unavailable.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in to your pitch is possible from 1:00 PM. On your departure day, we kindly ask you to vacate your pitch by 12:00 PM (check-out). Important: Your electricity hook-up will only be activated during this time. If you depart after 12:00 PM, we will unfortunately have to charge you for a full day's extension.
Am I allowed to leave the campsite with my campervan for a while?
Of course! If you've booked a pitch, you can leave and return to it as often as you like. Your power outlet will remain switched on. If you want to save electricity, you can simply switch it off via your digital login while you're away.
Facilities & Services (Electricity, Sanitary Facilities, Bread Rolls)
How does electricity work?
Each pitch (except for the Bullihafen nature reserve) has a CEE 16A power connection. Your connection will be automatically activated from 1:00 PM on your arrival day. Billing is fair and based on the utility credit you created with your booking. You can view and top up this credit at any time in your online customer account.
How do I access the sanitary facilities?
Access to our restrooms is reserved exclusively for guests with a paid booking. Simply hold your personal QR code (on your phone or printed out), which you received with your booking confirmation, in front of the scanner at the door. Showers are also paid for contactlessly by holding the QR code in front of the scanner – the amount will then be deducted directly from your credit.
Do you offer a bread delivery service?
Yes, of course! For the perfect start to your day, you can order oven-fresh rolls or croissants up to 7 days in advance from our online shop and pay digitally. Your pre-packed roll bags will then be ready for you in the reception area from 8:00 a.m.
Are water and waste disposal costs and Wi-Fi extra?
No. Greywater disposal and chemical toilet disposal (accessible 24/7) as well as the supply of fresh water of the highest Hamburg drinking water quality are completely free of charge at Elbepark Bunthaus. You can also use the Elbepark Guest Wi-Fi free of charge and without a password throughout the entire premises.
Ground Rules & Important Information
Are dogs allowed on the campsite?
Yes, dogs are very welcome here! Our free-roaming farm dog Emma is always happy to see new furry guests. We simply ask that, out of consideration for other campers, you keep your dogs on a leash on the campsite and in the adjacent Heuckenlock nature reserve.
Am I allowed to arrive with a caravan or tent?
No. Elbepark Bunthaus is exclusively for motorhomes. Caravans, tents, and construction workers are unfortunately not permitted on our premises. However, we do have a charming designated area for campervans, vans, and vehicles with roof tents up to a maximum length of 5 meters.
Is the consumption of cannabis legal?
No, we have a strict no-cannabis policy. Even though the law now regulates this differently, we have decided to prohibit the consumption of cannabis and any other drugs on the entire premises. The safety of our other guests, especially children, is our top priority. Any violation will result in immediate expulsion.
When does Elbepark Bunthaus close for the winter?
Since our campervan site is located outside the dike, directly on the banks of the Elbe River, we experience the effects of the tides firsthand. Due to the increased risk of flooding, overnight stays are prohibited in the Hamburg port area during the winter months. Therefore, we are regularly closed during the storm surge season from October 1st to March 14th.
