Hamburg in the Rain
Rotten weather? We know all about it. There's no Hamburg without rain, so the city has plenty of roofs.
Museums
Miniatur Wunderland
The world's largest model railway. A few hours fly by here. Book tickets online in advance.
International Maritime Museum
Nine decks of seafaring history in an old warehouse in the HafenCity.
BallinStadt
The emigration museum on the Veddel, close to the site and right by the S-Bahn.
Hamburger Kunsthalle
Art from the old masters to the present day, right next to Central Station.
See Hamburg without getting wet
- Elbphilharmonie Plaza: Views from 37 metres up. You still need a ticket, best booked online in advance.
- Old Elbe Tunnel: The tunnel from 1911, a few minutes' walk under the Elbe.
- U3 along the harbour: Between the Landungsbrücken and Baumwall you get a harbour panorama through the window.
Staying active indoors
- Climbing
- Climbing hall in the Inselpark Wilhelmsburg, for beginners and pros.
- Swimming
- Bäderland's Inselpark swimming pool, good with kids. Easy to reach with bus 351 and a short walk.
And afterwards?
Round off the evening at Der Stackmeister, right on the site. It's cosy inside, and even more so by the fire. And when the sun comes back out, you'll find a lovely spot in the beer garden under the old trees.
